Today we soaked up some sun in Kirkland while strolling the waterfront and people watching. (lots of stark white arms and legs (maybe these people are really albinos), some people who were shirtless who should have thought otherwise, and some folks driving fancy cars with fancy stereos blaring who must have been compensating for their shortcomings.)
The challenge was getting Matt to relax and enjoy being out and about on a sunny day in the city where he works.... at least with him being the training officer, he was more mellow than he would have been had he still been on patrol..... Once a cop, always a cop. (That being said, Betsy and I enjoyed hearing stories of people jumping from balconies while Matt pointed to where it happened as we strolled past it on our walk as well as seeing the spot where Matt claimed, "I used to come down here when I got tired on patrol".)
Cade was happy to be out and about and in her stroller, coated in SPF 50. She happily watched people and played with her toes while we walked by the water. She seemed to enjoy being outside and looking at all of the activities around her but did seem a bit confused by the breeze and the sound of the water splashing the shore. I thought she might like splashing her feet in the water of Lake Washington, but I was wrong. She cried (umm, yeah, it was freezing), but quickly got over it. I think we'll work on outdoor pool emersion before lakes....
We had some frozen yogurt (ce fiore is awesome!) and went to Marina Park to lounge about. (Too much excitement for Wee, she fell asleep)
Awesome day in the sun, I'm proudly rocking my first farmer tan of the season - it was worth it!
