2012 Banquet

Each 2nd Saturday in January, the police guild hosts its annual banquet, allowing officers and their spouses to essentially party with coworkers, in a city other than their own. This year, we partied at the Hyatt in Bellevue versus the Westin. Part of me wonders if we weren't invited back due to disorderly conduct. I can assure you, Matt and I had nothing to do with any misrepresentation of police officers!

That said, the Hyatt was beautiful and far less hoity toity (if you can imagine such a thing in Bellevue) than the Westin. (Trip advisor anyone?)

For Matt and I, the banquets year after year seem to run together, and not because of the quantity of alcohol consumed, but because Matt owns just one suit and typically wears the exact same shirt and tie year after year......

2010.. I made him wear a different shirt and tie....

2011.. casual because he came directly from patrol....

This year, like all others, was an absoloute blast. Willson's famous sangria was flowing, the food and company was great, and the dance floor.... well, it was full of laughs, Jodi and I danced a ton, even Matt joined us for a few numbers. The highlight of the evening was Matt's name being drawn from a hat to play Lets Make a Deal, where he correctly selected the mystery item in box number 3 versus the $40 from Allan. We won a weekend near Canon Beach, Oregon! We're looking forward to another weekend getaway, and of course, next year's banquet.

Special thanks to Betsy for staying with Cade so we could have a night out. Best auntie ever.

Proud cougs, Matt and Daniel aka the sangria man!

Yet another reason our years blur, each year, Matt takes this exact picture with a gingerbread man cookie....
