Life has simply caught up with us once again! To my faithful followers, although most of you are local, I apologize for the lack of blogging.
To get some sad news out of the way before going on to general updates, we (primarily my mom and I) lost our beloved boxer, Joey on 4/23 (Mom's birthday to boot). Joey was 5 1/2 and simply the sweetest boy who battled what likely was a brain tumor and dealt with epilepsy for over a year. We cherish the memories of our puppy boy and hold him near and dear to our hearts.
Moving on to general Anderson family updates, we don't have earth shattering news to report. To those who anxiously await the announcement of another baby on board, you'll have to keep waiting, Cade's all we can handle right now.
Matt celebrated 10 years of crime fighting fun at KPD on 4/23. He continues to love his role as the police training officer and seems to thrive in it daily. Aside from the fact that he enjoys what he does and has yet to be bored in this position, it is certainly helpful for family time as he works 4 - 10 hour shifts and is home in time for dinner, playing with Cade, hitting the gym..... Definitely things we missed out on when he was on patrol.
I continue to love my job as an executive assistant and I appreciate my commute (or lack there of) and my many entertaining coworkers. I find that I'm challenged in terms of tasks, some familiar, some very foreign, but I get to enjoy the freedom of managing my own time and being creative with event planning and networking. I often hold hands of some of my bosses so to speak, for example, I had to remind my boss about Administrative Professional Day, choose the gifts to give, and bought my own card. He signed is with minimal assistance from me (he signed with his own hand but I fed him the words he was to write). Needless to say, my administrative colleagues appreciated Nick's kind words (really they were mine) and loved their gift certificates. I'm looking forward to going to the spa! Matt and I have been consistently attending bodypump, my favorite group exercise class, and I've been fortunate lately to be able to sub classes for an instructor who's injured. I always knew I didn't get certified for nothing! It is a blast to teach and its hard to say no to getting paid to workout! We've also been attending Bikram Yoga classes, which are tremendously difficult, yet detoxifying and amazing all at once! In Bikram, class is 90 minutes long, it is 105 degrees in the room, and we do 26 postures (twice) and 2 breathing exercises. Its amazing to see ability progression in a very limited time period. Matt and I are taking care of ourselves for our own well being of course, but Cade needs some agile parents!
Cadence is a busy little bee!!!

At 18 months, Cade is into nearly everything and gives her opinion freely. She wears 2T clothing and has recently found interest in shoes and boots. (Thats my girl!) She doesn't quite dress herself but will select what she wants to wear or will refuse to wear shoes she didn't pick our herself. Sometimes, the less options we give her, the better.
Cade LOVES Elmo books, clothes, toys, and enjoys watching Sesame Street, Baby Einstein, and oddly enough, will bring us DVDs of Bodypump and wants to watch them while she tries to squat. Her vocabulary is expanding at a shocking rate but we still have no idea what she says half the time. She will ask for specific things, people, and foods, and when she's tired or upset will ask for her giraffe and bink or go get them herself. ("G-ya (it sounds like) and Baa") She loves talking on the phone and has recently started to say hello "he-yo!". Cade's old enough where she enjoys small projects to occupy her. We recently started finger painting and while she was hesitant at first, she really enjoyed it and demanded more colors than I gave her.

We're back in swimming lessons for our 2nd round of waterbabies, where Cade is the youngest in class but definitely the most fearless. We were instructed to wear swim caps this session, which I hate as it makes for unattractive photos, but Cade seems to like wearing her swim cap that has a fish on it with fins and a tail. She still has no issue being submerged and is learning to anchor herself on the side of the pool. She likes putting her ears in the water as well as back floating in both the pool and bath tub.
Belated Easter Pictures.
