Matt, Rachel, and Cadence: 2009 .....the year in review......

Matt and Rachel's year in review...... since I'm a late blogger... here is a photo recap of our 2009, many happy memories, events, and experiences. We're looking forward to a healthy and happy 2010!

January - KPD Banquet 2009...... Some intoxication, dancing, some posed pictures that make us look like we're the starts of the 5 o'clock news, nerf guns, Captain Morgans, burps during speeches, some very fun memories.

Visiting Granny in Illinois........... Celebrating Granny's 85th birthday with friends and family and seeing where Matt and Pete spend many summers.

February - Engagement Pictures at Heritage Hall in Kirkland.......It had snowed the morning of the engagement shoot but the shoot must go on! We were cold and Matt was a bit hesitant to give me smooches in front of Heritage Hall since it's in downtown Kirkland, but we had a fun time and got some priceless images!!

April - Bachelorette Night with "the girls" at the Parlour in Bellevue.......What party isn't complete without some intoxicated drama? I managed to delete all of my pictures from my camera and had to have Betsy have a friend UNDELETE them! The party was a blast, many embarassing stories, danced with some strangers, had great champagne, and ended the night playing Scene It at home with Betsy, Randi, and Matt. Even at the party, I couldn't leave my medical knowledge at home..... Betsy though I drank too much and was getting sick in the ladies room, when in fact I had ended up helping a gal who ripped her toenail off and was bandaging her toe in the middle of the bathroom at the Parlour, with gloves on. :) (safety first)

May - Bridal Shower at Martha's house. Good company, good food, the cupcakes were the best, and you can't have a bridal shower without some lingerie.....not even my mother in law couldn't resist getting in on the action....creepy. (imagine trying on something sexy for your husband and saying "honey, do you like it? Its from your mom!") And we can't forget the mumu, which officially, Matt wears more than me.......

Wedding rehearsal at Shilshole Bay Beach Club and Buca di Beppo Seattle

Wedding day, May 31st, 2009, 11am Shilshole Bay Beach Club. A romantic and fun day filled with sun, laughter, dancing, great food, amazing friends and family.

June 1st- After what felt like a whirlwind wedding (people are right, it DOES fly by!!), we headed home, napped a bit, and boarded a plane for our Honeymoon in Costa Rica. We spent a little over 2 weeks travelling all over Costa Rica, visiting some very beautiful and interesting places. Our travel buddies, Bruce, Dan, and Audra joined us at a few spots! We conquered some challenging roads in our SUV (equipped with Garmin, thank you very much) and began our honeymoon in the mountains near Arenal......(and after a long, red-eye flight)

From Arenal we went to the Pacific coast to Manuel Antonio and we stayed at La Mansion Inn, an old mansion converted to a hotel..... we even got bumped to the presidential suite!

From La Mansion Inn, we headed to the Carribean side to Puerto Veijo and stayed at Banana Azul............

July- Upon returning from our honeymoon, we quickly settled back into our work routines, now as a happily married couple. :) Summer was filled with BBQs with friends and adventures with Landon......
