My first mother's day went very well and we had a great weekend. Betsy, Matt, Wee, and I had a great time shopping for new glasses (pictures to come!) on Saturday followed by some impromptu wine tasting. (Matt and Wee stayed home).
Sunday Matt worked the Kirkland half marathon while Betsy and I beautified ourselves for brunch. (Time well spent!). Cadence has been a very good girl during the nights recently and hasn't woken up to have a bottle, but will wake up for a diaper change, to get her bink replaced, get a hug and a kiss and go back to sleep with her giraffe menagerie.
We enjoyed brunch at Pogacha (why wait for holidays for brunch, its awesome!) dining on decadent and of course, calorie free, treats. Various egg scrambles, ham, roast beef, pastries, fruit (my favorite was strawberries with marsala cream), bacon and sausage. Honestly, bacon is best cooked almost burnt, I don't know what's with the bacon tare-tare.
Unfortunately Martha was sick with the sinus crud that's been going around, but my mom was able to join us, and no, we didn't call each other to plan our outfits. (seriously, we didn't)
I enjoyed getting various mother's day treats, a gift card for Banana Republic (my favorite store), a pedicure, lavender goodies, and a beautiful necklace from my mom with 3 intertwined circles symbolizing Matt, Cadence, and I. Betsy and I really enjoyed doing quality control on mom's gift, we're going wine tasting and to get pedicures together. As it turns out, I DO have excellent taste in wine, I found a FABULOUS reserve wine, only $60 a bottle. Go figure.
Happy Belated Mother's Day to all!
