Waterbabies

"Waterbabies is a swim program committed to providing a quality family centered aquatic education, focusing on family bonding, touch-communication, water safety and the latest in Learn to Swim techniques."

Each Friday for the past few weeks, we've been taking Cadence to Waterbabies swim classes. Although class is short, only 30 minutes, it tires her out, which we love! Since she's been swimming before  (playing at Auntie Cami's pool with Michael and Georgia, and to our gym's pool), she was very comfortable getting in the water. She loves seeing her swim friends (4 other babies) and has fun interacting with babies very close to her own age, as well as saying hi and bye to their parents.

At this stage, skills aren't very technique driven as the babies are working on familiarization, but she's learning very valuable water skills. Each class we work on a skill, like back floating, or learning about buoyancy, while we sing a song or play with a toy. We've also submerged the babies, a concept that I've worked with her on previously so she has no problem going underwater, with relatively little to no sputtering if at all.

Our girl's definately a little fish!

*please note, if you want to see the youtube videos, remember to go directly to andermr.blogspot.com, they won't show up in email version of the blog.

Enjoy!

  1. Years ago before anything called "Waterbabies" existed, all the kids in our family were waterbabies. Our parents had us in the water ASAP and we LOVED IT. As a result, I feel more at home in the water than on land. Anytime I meet someone who doesn't know how to swim I think, how sad (and scary). Good for you!

Whenever I encounter someone who doesn't know how to swim I think how sad, not to mention scary. Good for you and Matt!
