Big Weekend
Cade's a busy baby!
Thursday night we had a sleepover at Nana's house where Cade spend most of her time petting and just being near Joey.....
Monday night brought on some massive giggles from Cade after a rousing game of peek-a-boo with Matt and I. Matt mimicks one of Cade's favorite toys at Grammy and Grampy's in this video and judging by Wee's reaction, she was pretty pleased!

Saturday night Cadence and I spent the evening babysitting (well, Sophie babysat Cade more than we babysat her) and its hard to believe that Sophie wasn't much older than Cade when I started watching her, and now she's reading to Cade and giving her baths, and feeding her......
Saturday Cade got a new quilt from Nana Jean, and it's pretty clear that she's very happy with her new owl friend..........
Sunday we hit Marymoor park and Cade had her first experience in a baby swing and loved it. (Watch the happily kicking legs!)

Soakin' Up the Sun in K-Town
I'm blind. By white-ness. (Washingtonians are PASTY!) My corneas may be forever damaged.
Today we soaked up some sun in Kirkland while strolling the waterfront and people watching. (lots of stark white arms and legs (maybe these people are really albinos), some people who were shirtless who should have thought otherwise, and some folks driving fancy cars with fancy stereos blaring who must have been compensating for their shortcomings.)
The challenge was getting Matt to relax and enjoy being out and about on a sunny day in the city where he works.... at least with him being the training officer, he was more mellow than he would have been had he still been on patrol..... Once a cop, always a cop. (That being said, Betsy and I enjoyed hearing stories of people jumping from balconies while Matt pointed to where it happened as we strolled past it on our walk as well as seeing the spot where Matt claimed, "I used to come down here when I got tired on patrol".)
Cade was happy to be out and about and in her stroller, coated in SPF 50. She happily watched people and played with her toes while we walked by the water. She seemed to enjoy being outside and looking at all of the activities around her but did seem a bit confused by the breeze and the sound of the water splashing the shore. I thought she might like splashing her feet in the water of Lake Washington, but I was wrong. She cried (umm, yeah, it was freezing), but quickly got over it. I think we'll work on outdoor pool emersion before lakes....
We had some frozen yogurt (ce fiore is awesome!) and went to Marina Park to lounge about. (Too much excitement for Wee, she fell asleep)
Awesome day in the sun, I'm proudly rocking my first farmer tan of the season - it was worth it!

Vote!
http://babyidol.movin925.com/baby/cadence
Cadence won a contest online several weeks ago and it was very exciting. The company (angeldear) that makes Cade's giraffes had a contest on their facebook page to post a picture of your child cuddling with their lovey or wearing angeldear attire and Cadence won $100 to their website with this picture......
Adorable, right?
Her cuteness is after your votes again! A local radio station is having a cute baby/ cute kid contest and Cade made the top 500! Although you do have to sign up to vote, I encourage you to do so! No spam from signing up, they just need a log of voters to make sure its not a rigged contest. That being said, sign up for your friends, your spouse, vote on behalf of your deceased pet, your cousin's uncle's brother's late wife's father in law.
Cadence is in it to win it and needs your votes!

I'm Cadence Anderson's mother, and I approve this message.
God Bless America.
